Medical Sales Officer

A Healthy Food Restaurant is seeking to hire a Medical Sales Officer who will be responsible for promoting the restaurant’s products, services, dining experience, and corporate offerings to hospitals, clinics, healthcare professionals, medical institutions, and related organisations.

The role will involve regular visits to hospitals and healthcare facilities to introduce the restaurant, build professional relationships, identify business opportunities, generate referrals, promote special meal packages and catering services, and convert prospective clients into regular customers.

The officer will serve as a key link between the restaurant and the healthcare community, with a strong focus on business development, customer acquisition, relationship management, and revenue generation.

 JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to expand the restaurant’s customer base and revenue within the healthcare sector by developing strong relationships with hospitals, healthcare professionals, patients’ families, staff, and healthcare-related organisations, while promoting the restaurant’s food, services, meal packages, catering options, and other relevant offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Hospital and Healthcare Institution Visits

  • Conduct regular visits to hospitals, clinics, medical centres, and other healthcare institutions.
  • Introduce the restaurant and its products and services to hospital management, doctors, nurses, administrative staff, patients’ relatives, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key contacts within healthcare institutions.
  • Identify opportunities for the restaurant to serve hospital staff, visitors, patients’ families, and corporate clients.
  • Maintain a structured schedule of hospital and healthcare facility visits.
  • Follow up consistently with contacts after initial visits.

B. Business Development and Sales

  • Identify and develop new customer and revenue opportunities within the healthcare sector.
  • Promote the restaurant’s menu, healthy meal options, meal packages, takeaway services, delivery services, and catering offerings.
  • Generate leads and convert prospects into paying customers.
  • Identify opportunities for hospitals and healthcare organisations to use the restaurant for meetings, staff meals, events, and other functions.
  • Develop corporate and institutional accounts.
  • Meet assigned monthly and quarterly sales and customer acquisition targets.
  • Develop strategies to increase repeat business from healthcare institutions.

C. Restaurant Promotion

  • Clearly communicate the restaurant’s unique selling points, menu offerings, quality standards, ambience, location, convenience, and customer service.
  • Distribute approved restaurant marketing materials to prospective clients.
  • Promote special offers, corporate packages, loyalty programmes, healthy meal options, and other approved promotions.
  • Encourage healthcare professionals and hospital staff to visit and recommend the restaurant.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Team on hospital-focused promotional campaigns and activities.

D. Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, procurement officers, human resource personnel, corporate representatives, and other relevant contacts.
  • Maintain a database of healthcare-sector clients and prospects.
  • Regularly engage existing clients to understand their needs and identify additional business opportunities.
  • Handle customer enquiries professionally and coordinate the resolution of complaints.
  • Encourage referrals and recommendations from satisfied customers.

E. Corporate and Group Sales

  • Identify opportunities for hospital staff meetings, conferences, training programmes, workshops, celebrations, and other events requiring catering or restaurant services.
  • Promote group dining and catering packages to hospitals and healthcare organisations.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations and proposals where applicable.
  • Coordinate with the restaurant’s operations team to ensure successful delivery of confirmed orders or events.

F. Market Intelligence

  • Gather information on customer preferences, competitor restaurants, pricing, meal trends, and opportunities within the healthcare market.
  • Identify hospitals and healthcare facilities with potential for business development.
  • Provide management with regular feedback on market trends and customer needs.
  • Recommend new products, packages, or promotional initiatives based on market feedback.

G. Sales Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of hospital visits, contacts, leads, prospects, referrals, and sales.
  • Submit weekly and monthly sales activity reports.
  • Track leads from initial contact through conversion.
  • Maintain an updated healthcare-sector customer database.
  • Monitor sales performance against assigned targets.
  • Provide regular updates to management on opportunities, challenges, and progress.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, HND, or Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, business development, hospitality, healthcare marketing, or customer relationship management is preferred.
  • Experience working with hospitals, healthcare professionals, corporate organisations, or institutions will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of restaurant, catering, food delivery, or hospitality services is an added advantage.
  • A valid driver’s licence is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sales and business development skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to confidently engage doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, and corporate decision-makers.
  • Good knowledge of the restaurant’s products and services.
