Sales Executive

MGA Consulting Ghana Ltd is seeking to hire a Sales Executive who will be responsible for driving business growth and revenue generation by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective clients for the organisation’s consulting and advisory, training and capacity-building, and research and insights services.

The role involves prospecting for new business opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers, understanding clients’ business needs, presenting appropriate solutions, preparing and following up on proposals, and converting opportunities into successful engagements.

The Sales Executive will work closely with the Consulting, Training, Research, and Business Development teams to ensure that client needs are properly understood and translated into relevant solutions.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to grow the organisation’s client base and revenue by proactively identifying market opportunities, developing strong business relationships, generating qualified leads, and successfully selling the organisation’s consulting, advisory, training, capacity-building, research, and insight solutions.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Business Development and Lead Generation

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across relevant industries and sectors.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify organisations with potential demand for consulting, advisory, training, and research services.
  • Generate leads through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, LinkedIn, events, industry associations, and other appropriate channels.
  • Develop targeted prospect lists and maintain an up-to-date database of potential clients.
  • Proactively contact decision-makers, including CEOs, Managing Directors, HR Directors, Heads of Departments, Procurement Managers, and other senior executives.
  • Convert qualified prospects into sales opportunities.

B. Consultative Selling

  • Engage prospective clients to understand their business challenges, priorities, and development needs.
  • Identify opportunities where the organisation’s consulting, advisory, training, capacity-building, or research services can provide value.
  • Recommend appropriate solutions based on the client’s identified needs.
  • Conduct professional sales presentations and solution discussions.
  • Communicate the organisation’s value proposition clearly and persuasively.
  • Develop long-term relationships rather than focusing only on individual transactions.

C. Service Sales

The Sales Executive will be responsible for selling the organisation’s key service areas, including:

Consulting & Advisory

  • Management consulting

Training & Capacity Building

  • Corporate training programmes
  • Leadership and management development

Research & Insights

  • Market research
  • Customer and employee research
  • Surveys and assessments
  • Feasibility studies
  • Business intelligence and market insights
  • Research reports and other insight-based solutions

D. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Conduct regular client engagement and follow-up activities.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, and upselling.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, requirements, opportunities, and sales activities.
  • Ensure that client enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Gather client feedback and communicate relevant information to the appropriate internal teams.

E. Proposal and Tender Support

  • Work with consulting and technical teams to develop client proposals, quotations, presentations, and concept notes.
  • Assist in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and tenders.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and maintain communication with prospective clients throughout the decision-making process.
  • Track proposal status and provide regular updates to management.
  • Maintain a database of proposals submitted, outcomes, and opportunities for future engagement.

F. Sales Conversion and Revenue Generation

  • Manage prospects through the sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure.
  • Negotiate commercial terms within approved organisational parameters.
  • Follow up consistently on outstanding proposals and commercial discussions.
  • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Develop strategies to improve lead-to-client conversion.
  • Monitor the value and quality of the active sales pipeline.
  • Work with Finance and Operations to support timely invoicing and payment follow-up where required.

G. Market Development and Networking

  • Attend business conferences, professional events, exhibitions, seminars, and networking sessions to generate business opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with industry associations, corporate organisations, government institutions, NGOs, development organisations, and other potential clients.
  • Identify emerging market trends and client needs that could inform the development of new services.
  • Provide management with regular market intelligence and competitor insights.

H. Sales Reporting and Pipeline Management

  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity reports.
  • Maintain an accurate and updated sales pipeline.
  • Track leads, opportunities, proposals, conversion rates, and revenue.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts to management.
  • Report on challenges, opportunities, client feedback, and market developments.
  • Ensure all sales activities are properly documented in the organisation’s CRM or approved reporting system.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, consulting sales, professional services, or a related field.
  • Experience selling consulting, training, advisory, research, or other professional services will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in meeting sales targets and developing new business.
  • Experience engaging senior-level decision-makers is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Ghanaian corporate and professional services market will be an advantage.
  • Strong B2B sales and business development skills.
  • Excellent prospecting and lead-generation abilities.
  • Good understanding of the consulting and professional services environment.
