MGA Consulting Ghana Limited, in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Ghanaian Germany Center (GGC), embarked on a community project titled “Providing Economic Livelihoods for Local Population and Returned Migrants” from March 15 to June 15, 2023.
With the active participation of all relevant stakeholders, the project directly empowered migrants, refugees, and locals to enhance their participation in Ghanaian social settings.
This was achieved by providing the target group with essential equipment such as chest freezers, farm tools, catering materials and equipment, ovens, cameras, etc., for their businesses and offering entrepreneurship training in fashion, folk lifting, hairdressing, carpentry, beauty care, media, etc., for successful integration.
The project had 75 beneficiaries, distributed across seven regions: Greater Accra, Central, Bono, Volta, Eastern, Ashanti, and Western.
The project successfully catered to the needs of all beneficiaries, bringing about a profound transformation in their lives. The beneficiaries were overwhelmed by the abundance of equipment presented to aid them in their respective endeavors.
Providing migrants with the social skills necessary for successful integration and sensitizing public opinion to combat bigoted stereotypes promotes belonging and inclusivity. It contributes to the growth of the economy.
